Polini 70 cc engine for Piaggio Zip 100cc 2t Sp H2O from 1996 to 2000.
Complete Polini engine for Piaggio Zip SP the complete Polini engine was developed with MotoGP solutions. An uncompromising choice, Polini makes its know-how available thanks to the experience gained on the main racing circuits. The technical innovations are numerous: The crankcase is made of light alloy, rigidity and resistance to torsion are guaranteed by mounting on two bearings, with 2 exhaust systems available, one suitable for the 70cc engine and the other for 100cc.
The bearing seats are oversized to allow the housing of motor shafts of larger diameters.
The reed valve has a larger seat for use with carburetors from 19 to 28 mm.
The cylinders are in water-cooled light alloy with a 47.6 and 50 bore, both derived from the Polini 125 GP engine, the piston is gravity cast in light alloy with a high silicon content. The assembly of the electric water pump is mandatory
The transmission group has more space thanks to the particular geometry of the crankcase. The drive belt is deliberately oversized to maximize traction
The ignition housing is designed for both 70cc and 100cc displacement.
The Torsen WD system allows the use of 2 braking systems:
Classic drum with original rim
The innovative system with brand new hub holder for wheel including 180mm disc and housing for Polini 2-piston 32mm brake caliper. All components are machined from solid, a front rim with 200 mm disc is also available, lighter and more performing than the original.
