Introduction
The challenge was clear: improve the gearbox for Piaggio Ciao, Si mopeds and similar models, making it more performing and visually appealing. This is how the new Malossi gearbox managed to transform a fundamental component into a technical work of art.
Key Innovations
The new gearbox, made of die-cast and precision machined aluminum, features strategic reinforcements with added ribs to increase rigidity and better support high performance, structural updates with increased diameter of the bearing seat and ribs for greater strength, without altering the Original space, and advanced technology with the use of pressed needle bearings, NBR oil seals with double sealing lip and labyrinth for optimal lubrication.
Optimizations and features
The improved design facilitates the housing of the gears and optimizes the functioning of the brake shoe. Durable construction features concentric locating bushings, high-quality steel pins, and silicone paste sealing for an airtight seal. The gearbox is supplied complete with bearings, oil seals, screws and shims, ready to be mounted with Malossi or original gears.
Important note
The new gearbox does not support the vehicle's "bicycle" mode.
