The new mhr detachable head cylinder kits are the natural evolution of the MHR MALOSSI line. Fruit of the research of its technicians, they have determined the victories of the national and European official teams in the cross and speed trophies. Malossi is pleased to be able to guarantee all the drivers who want to participate in the National and European Trophies a product with the highest level of performance and quality.
CYLINDER:
Material: special aluminum alloy with a high percentage of silicon and titanium which guarantees high non-deformability at high temperatures.
Heat treatment: special hardening and stabilization which gives the material high toughness and rigidity, guaranteeing the constancy of the mechanical and dimensional characteristics up to temperatures of 250°C.
Machining by chip removal: carried out on numerically controlled machining centers with extremely tight dimensional and shape tolerances (cylindricity, roundness, perpendicularity).
Coating on the internal surface: performed with silicon carbide coating on a nickel matrix, heat treated which guarantees a very high hardness around 600 HV0.1/5 with a very high resistance to wear.
Internal cylinder machining: with special machines that allow to obtain a very high degree of finish on the sliding walls with crossing of the roughness according to the angles set in the design phase (sealing).
Exhaust and transfer diagrams: designed and built expressly for competition. The definition of the exhaust and transfer diagrams required a considerable effort on the part of our technicians on static engine test benches and on the competition fields on which the trophy takes place.
PISTON:
Material: special alloy with a very high percentage of silicon in order to guarantee very high resistance to heat and non-deformability with varying temperatures.
External coating: tin coating which guarantees a very low coefficient of friction.
Structure: reinforced to withstand the stresses imposed on a cylinder kit for competition at the highest level, but at the same time retains a remarkable lightness in order to reduce the forces of inertia.
Segment in high mechanical resistance spheroidal cast iron with ground and lapped wear-resistant hard chrome coating on the contact surface.
HEAD:
The brand new Malossi decomposable head was created expressly to guarantee the disposal of the considerable quantities of heat which develop in an engine with very high specific power intended for competition.
It is made up of a head in special high silicon content hardened and tempered aluminum alloy fixed directly to the cylinder liner, which is lapped along its entire external surface by the coolant, guaranteeing a very large exchange surface. Moreover, being released from the external walls, it is free to follow the expansions of the cylinder.
The combustion chamber is made entirely with numerical control machines in order to guarantee dimensional and shape tolerances to the hundredth of a millimetre.
The modular head system is completed with a cover which closes the upper part of the cylinder ensuring the seal of the coolant.
The combustion chamber for this cylinder kit has been specially designed in terms of geometry and squish for use in the Scooter Speed Trophy and Scooter Cross Trophy.
